Sewage lift stations

The Landia chopper pump is a major problem solver for sewage lift stations.

Today, municipal sewage contains unreasonably large amounts of “flushable wipes”, household grease, and other troublesome materials, which can build up into thick scum layers in lift stations, and at times even large fatbergs, which cause problems for the sewage pumps and headaches for the collection systems operators. It has only gotten worse with the Coronavirus and the drastically increased use of sanitary wipes, gloves, and face masks. Municipalities across the country report around 30-50% increase in sewage clogging problems in the past year of the pandemic. Restaurants have been closed for extended periods of time and more people are cooking at home.  Unlike restaurants, people typically don’t have grease traps in their homes, which means more cooking oil and grease ends up in the sewers. When grease in the sewers binds together the wipes, plastics, and other debris, which is being flushed, it can form large lumps of material, which cause clogging of sewage pumps.

The Landia Gator-series offers a range of heavy-duty chopper pumps and jet aerators, which eliminate these troublesome build-ups and prevent pump failures and lift station clogging. The Landia Gator effectively breaks down the grease layers and macerates the ‘flushable’ wipes, and you will never have to unclog a pump again!

No more pump alarms

There are very few wastewater pumps in the market that can handle the many disposable rags, wet wipes, diapers, pieces of clothing, and other foreign bodies that end up in the sewer and the wastewater, and it is never convenient when a pump alarm kicks in.
Landia’s series of chopper pumps are equipped with an efficient knife system at the pump inlet, which chops the debris before it is pumped further into the system. The Landia chopper pump is an easy solution to solve problems with clogged pumps.
